Slim-hole digital oilfield
With a maximum tool diameter of 2.5” (63mm), the tools offer a light-weight costeffective
option in small diameter holes or in wells with restricted access. The maximum working temperature is 125degC and the maximum pressure is 12,500psi. The RG digital surface interface uses the industrystandard log acquisition software, Warrior?, marketed by Scientific Data Systems Inc. Tool designs are optimised for responses in boreholes up to 12” diameter. The designs are supported by Monte Carlo modelling (nuclear tools) and finite-element analysis
(resistivity tools). Models have been benchmarked against industry-standard formations
such as the Callisto Test Facility in Leicestershire, UK. The tool string consists of stackable
modules which may be included or omitted as required. The uppermost module, the
telemetry sub, communicates with the surface system using a proprietary high-speed communications protocol.
